The Sunset Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Florida Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunset will be strutting in after a win while Florida Christian will be coming in after a loss.
Sunset's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They put the hurt on Coral Park with a sharp 52-27 victory. The win was just what Sunset needed coming off of a 60-33 defeat in their prior match.
Bianca Pacheco continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Torrech, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Florida Christian suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Coral Shores, falling 54-25. Florida Christian has not had much luck with Coral Shores recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Florida Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bella Fernandez, who scored five points, was perhaps the best of all.
Sunset's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Florida Christian, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Sunset have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.2 rebounds per game.
