Dimond is 8-2 against Service since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lynx will challenge the Cougars at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dimond is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Bartlett, who was ranked tenth at the time (Dimond was ranked third). The Lynx walked away with a 9-6 win over the Golden Bears on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lynx as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aubree Ogee spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kea D'Elia, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Clara Estabrook also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Service won against Lathrop on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Cougars put the hurt on Bartlett with a sharp 13-5 win. Considering the Cougars have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
McKinley Fuller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Service got a massive performance out of Cheyenne Henry, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Aryanna Sparks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Service was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Dimond's record now sits at 7-5. As for Service, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Dimond took their victory against Service in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lynx since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
