Kerr-Vance Academy came out on top against Halifax Academy by a score of 58-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kerr-Vance Academy.
Kerr-Vance Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but M.j. Wright led the charge by scoring 21 points. The matchup was Wright's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Gavin Currin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Kerr-Vance Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Halifax Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kerr-Vance Academy will take on Rocky Mount Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mount Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Halifax Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oakwood at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Oakwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
