Softball Recap: Chavez Wins Going Away Against Foothill

Chavez won the last time they faced Foothill and things went their way on Monday too. The Titans put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 12-1 win.

Madyson Herrera made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Alexis Elizondo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoe Chavez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Foothill, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Chavez will square off against Lindsay at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Foothill, they will take on West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.86 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
