Kankakee Trinity Academy found their leader in freshman Cory Hathaway, who went 7 for 13 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Hathaway a new career-high. Johnny Bayarra was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Donovan came into Friday's contest having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Tri-Point by a score of 61-48 on Friday. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Donovan's win came from a few key players Kankakee Trinity Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braden Klecan, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with eight boards and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Hennieke, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
