After a string of five wins, the Andrews Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Fannin County by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Andrews lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Rattler. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Rattler's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Ty Clark was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Andrews' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2. As for Fannin County, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Andrews won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hiwassee Dam at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hiwassee Dam is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Fannin County is on the road again on Saturday and play against Union County at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th.
