The Brookhaven Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat South Pike 66-26 on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Brookhaven who now have eight in a row.
It was another big night for Jaylen Haliburton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. He also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Jamarius Malone was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Brookhaven pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for South Pike, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Brookhaven will head out on the road to face off against South Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Jones has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 241 points over their last four contests. South Pike will be home for the holidays to greet Amite County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amite County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
