Basketball Recap: South Bend St. Joseph Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

South Bend St. Joseph had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Chase Konieczny did his part to make it ten on Friday. The South Bend St. Joseph Huskies blew past the Mishawaka Cavemen, posting a 90-59 victory for which the team can thank Konieczny, who dropped a double-double with 43 points and ten boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 25 points.

Another player making a difference was Ethan Roseman, who posted eight points in addition to ten assists and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

South Bend St. Joseph has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Mishawaka is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

South Bend St. Joseph and Mishawaka are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. South Bend St. Joseph will face off against South Bend Washington at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Bend St. Joseph knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully South Bend Washington likes a good challenge. As for Mishawaka, they will challenge South Bend Riley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mishawaka has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
