After flying high against the Manchester Red Hawks on Thursday, the East Hartford Hornets came back down to earth. East Hartford lost to Conard on the road by a decisive 54-40 margin on Friday. East Hartford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Conard apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
East Hartford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nia Edens, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Chanel Ward, who scored eight points.
East Hartford's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Conard, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Hartford will take on South Windsor at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Conard, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Southington at 6:45 p.m. on January 2nd. Hopefully Southington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
