Fox Creek fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 win over Batesburg-Leesville on Friday.
Fox Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maya Kryshtalowych, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Kryshtalowych has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jada Jennings, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Strom Thurmond's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Fox Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
Everything came up roses for Strom Thurmond against Fox Creek when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 60-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Strom Thurmond since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
