The Superior Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 47-18 loss at the hands of Patagonia. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Superior has suffered since January 9th.
Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Sussan Mancinas, who scored six points along with five steals.
Even though they lost, Superior smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Superior's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Patagonia, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9.
Superior won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Duncan at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. Duncan's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Superior's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Patagonia, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind at 5:30 p.m. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 13 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
