The West Lafayette Red Devils will head out to challenge the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lafayette will be strutting in after a victory while Clinton Prairie will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Wednesday, West Lafayette got the win against Lafayette Central Catholic by a conclusive 15-5. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Paola Eifler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Avery Asay also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
West Lafayette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 13-6 to Tri-County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gophers have suffered since April 16, 2024.
Kadie Fearnow was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Riley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
West Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Clinton Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Lafayette hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Clinton Prairie struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went West Lafayette's way against Clinton Prairie when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as West Lafayette made off with a 22-10 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Gophers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
