Wayland had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They took a hard 0-20 fall against Hopkinton. If Wayland were expecting to get some payback for the 14-18 defeat against Hopkinton the last time they met, then they were left disappointed. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Wayland off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Hopkinton a 1-0 record.
Wayland will look to defend their home turf next week against Lynnfield at 7:00 PM. Hopkinton will stay at home against Needham at 7:00 PM.
