The Poly Bears will face off against the Orange Vista Coyotes at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Poly will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Poly is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Paloma Valley on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. Considering the Bears have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Marley Audoma made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Poly got a massive performance out of Karly Romero, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Romero a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Violet Espin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Poly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paloma Valley only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orange Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hemet an 8-0 shutout on Monday. The game marked the Coyotes' most dominant victory of the season.
The result came thanks to Emily Ruvalcaba's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.
On the hitting side, Orange Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazmine Zabala, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Danielle Zabala was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Orange Vista is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Poly, they pushed their record up to 16-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Poly hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Orange Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Poly skirted past Orange Vista 10-8 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
