Wheeler will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Alcorn Central extended their winning streak to three last Tuesday. The Bears walked away with a 10-7 victory over Ripley.

Sydnee Norman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Journey Phillips and McKinley Byrd did most of the damage at the plate: Phillips went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Byrd went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Byrd has posted since back in March of 2025. BryLee Price was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Alcorn Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Wheeler never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Thrasher 15-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won five in a row.
Wheeler now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Alcorn Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alcorn Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. However, it's not like Wheeler struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alcorn Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Wheeler when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
