The DeWitt Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Smackover Buckaroos at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. DeWitt is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Tuesday, DeWitt was able to grind out a solid victory over McGehee, taking the game 6-1. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by exactly five runs.

NECI HILL
| 03/18/25 @ McGehee | 1 |
| 03/13/25 @ Star City | 0 |
| 03/10/25 vs Crossett | 1 |
NECI HILL spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, KHLOE LLOYD was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. BELLE EASTERWOOD was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Smackover never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Prescott 12-0. The Buckaroos haven't had any issues with the Curley Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ava Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia James, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Darden, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Smackover hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive matches.
DeWitt pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Smackover, their record now sits at 5-1.
Both DeWitt and Smackover just can't seem to miss. DeWitt has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Smackover struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went DeWitt's way against Smackover when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as DeWitt made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for DeWitt since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
