The Montevallo Bulldogs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Brookwood Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Montevallo is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brookwood in Alabama (Montevallo is ranked 152nd, while Brookwood is ranked 366th).
After a string of six wins, Montevallo's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bibb County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Montevallo has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Brookwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Northside 66-37. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Brookwood struggled afterwards.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Taylor Crummie, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rowell, who scored eight points.
Montevallo's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Brookwood, they bumped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
