McConnellsburg put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fannett Metal 71-44 on the road. Given McConnellsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the are ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McConnellsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaffer Earley out in front who scored 17 points along with five steals. It was the first time this season that Earley scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Gress, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Everett beat the Panthers 53-49 on Friday.
McConnellsburg's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. McConnellsburg didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory.
