The Alcorn Central Bears's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Belmont by a score of 60-52. The win was just what Alcorn Central needed coming off of a 77-45 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Belmont saw an underclassman step up: Khalil Luster dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Alcorn Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Belmont, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.
Alcorn Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Itawamba Agricultural at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Itawamba Agricultural presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alcorn Central in Mississippi (Itawamba Agricultural is ranked 104th, while Alcorn Central is ranked 229th). Belmont on the road again on Tuesday and play against Tishomingo County at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Tishomingo County will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
