The Roosevelt Presidents will venture away from home to take on the Goshen Central Gladiators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Roosevelt came up short against Wallkill on Friday, falling 18-3.
Braelyn Oconnor was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Kristeen Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goshen Central). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Monticello a 17-0 shutout on Friday. With that win, the Gladiators brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Anna Mayo made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mayo was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Goshen Central got a massive performance out of Sophia Springer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Springer has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marley Northrup, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Goshen Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.

Roosevelt suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Goshen Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Presidents avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
