The Galesburg Christian Lions won against the Unity Christian Knights on Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Galesburg Christian took down Unity Christian 59-42. Winning may never get old, but Galesburg Christian sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
It was another big night for Andrew Summers, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds. Summers is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ryan Walker was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carsen Bennett, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Foust, who scored nine points.
Galesburg Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Unity Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galesburg Christian will take on Pathway Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pathway Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. Unity Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
