Cornerstone Classical Academy extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-7. They came up short against the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles, falling 11-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in February.
Elijah Donghit was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nick Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their record now sits at 11-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
On Paxon School For Advanced Studies' side, Robert Bryson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. What's more, Bryson posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Paxon School For Advanced Studies is undefeated when Bryson posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Henry Harris and Robert Ward did most of the damage at the plate: Harris got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Ward got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those three runs gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Cornerstone Classical Academy has already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Duval Charter on the 31st. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-10 loss against Mandarin on the 31st.
