Western Missouri recap September 10, 2013
Drexel moved up to 157 from 190 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western Missouri. The Bobcats were able to make move up by defeating Adrian 26-24.
Midway took down Archie 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Rich Hill's dynamic duo of Bryant Courter and Jacob Thompson proved tough for Lockwood to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Courter threw for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns and Thompson had 127 yards receiving. Courter helped Rich Hill's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 57 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Courter and Thompson proved to be unstoppable against the Tigers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Driston Self was a passing and rushing force as Osceola topped Appleton City. He completed 7 passes for 125 yards and also ran for 97 yards. Self's favorite target this week was Dallas Self, who caught 5 passes for 85 yards.
Trevor Dean was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 156 yards on 7 carries as the Indians fell to Lockwood. Teammate Drew Carney added to the ground attack by rushing for 118 yards.
Courter put up the best numbers through the air as Heath Heckadon's team fell to Clay Lasater's team.
Thompson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers fell to the Tigers.
Rich Hill's Courter and Thompson have formed a dream team this season, leading Western Missouri in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Courter has thrown for 221 yards this season, while Thompson has 10 catches for 168 yards. The Blackhawks' Austin Corley leads the league in rushing yards with 267.
The Vikings are in first place, while Adrian is in fifth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Midway takes on George Bruto's team. The Vikings have allowed 3 points this season, while the Blackhawks have given up 26.
