Laingsburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Brandon Blackhawks by a score of  2-1 on Monday. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
 Laingsburg actually scored more points across those three sets (62-61), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-16, 11-25,  25-21.
 Kendall Michels paced Laingsburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Michels really made an impact as  she also led the team in assists with 11.  Harper Strouse controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
 Brandon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Brooke Roberts led the charge by  getting 15  digs. That's the most  digs  Roberts has posted since back in September of 2024.  Eleanor Peterson was another key player,  getting seven  digs and three  aces.
Brandon has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
 Coincidentally, Laingsburg and Brandon will both be playing Fulton the next time they take the court. The Wolfpack will  host the Pirates at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday, while the Blackhawks will play them later in the day, at 8:00  p.m.
