The Eisenhower Tigers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Goddard by a score of 58-55. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Goddard is ranked 58th).
Despite the loss, Eisenhower still got an impressive performance from Pierce Blue, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blue has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Larsen Schneider, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks.
Eisenhower has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Goddard, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Eisenhower will face off against Heights at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Goddard will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maize South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
