Basketball Recap: Crisp County Piles Up the Points Against Appling County

On Saturday, the Crisp County Cougars took their game with ease, bagging a 66-34 victory over the Appling County Pirates. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Crisp County to victory were Zakariyya Dwight and Courtney Oliver 4. Dwight dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 15 boards, and 12 blocks, while Oliver 4 went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points. Dwight has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 19 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Lofton, who posted four points and 14 rebounds.

Crisp County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Appling County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

The timing is sure in Crisp County's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Cook has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Appling County, they will face off against Telfair County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Appling County is facing Telfair County at the right time seeing as Telfair County is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
