Cincinnati Hills recap Oct. 3, 2012
Wyoming extended the longest winning streak in Cincinnati Hills this week by beating Deer Park, 41-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Cowboys.
Finneytown made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,536 from 12,849. The improvement was the result of 28-14 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Matt Stewart and Nick Jones gave Mariemont a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Stewart threw for 74 yards and one touchdown, while Jones ran for 232 yards. Ryden Lewis also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.
Jones made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Warriors bested Finneytown. The 5-foot-7 senior pulled down one interception.
Tyler Cook was the best wideout in the league this week as Darryn Chenalt's team lost to Mariemont. Cook racked up four receptions for 58 yards. Manny Martin helped Finneytown's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Wyoming's Will Marty and Ben Kurtz have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Marty has thrown for 1156 yards this season, while Kurtz, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 464 yards. Jones from Tom Crosby's team leads the league in rushing with 516 yards.
A big matchup in Cincinnati Hills this week will be when Taylor takes on Aaron Hancock's team. The Yellowjackets are currently in fourth, while the Cowboys are in second.
