The Spring Valley Vikings won the last time they faced the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets, and things went their way on Friday too. Spring Valley snuck past Lower Richland with a 44-39 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spring Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Temoney, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Temoney continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Burgess was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Spring Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Lower Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dutch Fork at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Lower Richland and Hammond will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hammond presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lower Richland in South Carolina (Hammond is ranked 31st, while Lower Richland is ranked 120th).
