Kopperl is 0-10 against Morgan since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kopperl Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Morgan Eagles at 7:15 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Kopperl has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Morgan will arrive with nine straight wins.
Kopperl pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-57 to Iredell.
Morgan posted their closest win since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Covington out 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Adrian Alonzo and Mark Anthony Garcia were among the main playmakers for Morgan as the former scored 25 points along with six assists and two steals and the latter scored 28 points along with two steals and two blocks. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Ramirez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Kopperl's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.
Kopperl took a serious blow against Morgan when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-33. Can Kopperl avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
