After having lost a blowout in their contest last week, Russell County were happy to find some success on Friday. They walked away with a 35-26 win over Clay County. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Russell County as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
The victory bumped Russell County's record up to 4-5. Clay County are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Next week Russell County will take on Hart County at 7:00 PM. As for Clay County, they will face off against North Laurel. Clay County will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
