Ocosta is 0-10 against Ilwaco since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Ocosta Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ilwaco Fishermen at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Ocosta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They really took it to Non Varsity Opponent for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-19 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Ocosta has managed all season.
Ocosta found their leader in underclassman Anna Davis, who dropped a triple-double on 32 points, 18 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Rasmus, who scored two points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Ilwaco scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 86-22 win over North Beach at home. Ilwaco has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.
Ocosta is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Ilwaco, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
