The Lucas Cubs will square off against the Hillsdale Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lucas' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Monday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Thursday, Lucas didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Gilead and fell 2-1.

Jack DiBartolomeo put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lucas is 4-1 when DiBartolomeo allows one or fewer hits, but 6-8 otherwise. DiBartolomeo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
DiBartolomeo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Grover, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale posted their closest victory since April 26th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lexington, sneaking past 7-5.
Like Lucas, Hillsdale also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyle Turk. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. What's more, Turk posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kael Lewis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. Colton Mosher was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Lucas' loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Hillsdale, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
