South Oak Cliff has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Wilson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Oak Cliff scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Adamson at home to the tune of 104-46. Given South Oak Cliff's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Adamson is ranked 1385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Wilson waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jefferson 76-35 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-15.
South Oak Cliff pushed their record up to 4-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Wilson, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
South Oak Cliff strolled past Wilson when the teams last played back in January by a score of 50-36. Does South Oak Cliff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wilson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
