 In other batting news,  Payton Twait was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That  home run was  his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Tucker Whiteaker, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
 Serena's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Earlville, their win  ended  an  eight-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-7.
