4A District 2 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Neville extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Carroll, 34-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
Franklin Parish was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in the league. The Patriots defeated Oak Grove 22-20 earlier in the week.
Neville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Diarse threw for 162 and two touchdowns and Kylon Highshaw had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Diarse chipped in 61 yards. Will Watson helped Neville's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Bastrop's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jaetarious Davis has thrown for 976 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Jatavious Wilson has 30 catches for 561 yards. Antwon Green leads the league in rushing with 282 yards.
Franklin Parish and the Tigers played the most hotly contested game in 4A District 2 this week, with Franklin Parish eventually emerging with a 22-20 victory.
