Princeton is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out to square off against the North Posey Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Princeton took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jasper, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers skirted past the Wildcats 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

| 04/06/24 vs South Knox | 5 |

| 04/26/24 @ South Knox | 2 |
Ryne Wilhite and Jaron Clutter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wilhite pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Clutter struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Wilhite scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Clutter scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jarrett Kinder was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, North Posey took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past South Knox 16-1. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won nine in a row.
Like Princeton, North Posey also got a great game from a pair of two-way players: Colby Angel. Throwing, Angel pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ethan Mansfield tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Angel scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Mansfield scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kade Buecher and Dylan Murphy did most of the damage at the plate: Buecher went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Murphy scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jed Galvin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Princeton skirted past North Posey 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
