Scott Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They came up short against the Union Yellowjackets, falling 17-3. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 15-5 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Scott Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Risher, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run. That hit marked the first that Risher has got this season. Another was Tae Phillips, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Union, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.7 runs this season.
On Union's side, Rafe Manning was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Manning posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Austin Lee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kooper Fultz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Scott Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-8 loss against Forest on the 28th. As for Union, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Clarkdale on the 28th.
