The Kecoughtan Warriors were the 85-66 winner over the Denbigh Patriots when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Kecoughtan fell to Denbigh 62-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Mathews, who scored 15 points. Kevin Dryden was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Kecoughtan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Denbigh, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.
Kecoughtan will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Woodside at 7:00 p.m. Woodside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kecoughtan in Virginia (Woodside is ranked 14th, while Kecoughtan is ranked 164th). As for Denbigh, they will head out on the road to take on Bethel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethel is on a three-game streak of home losses, Denbigh a nine-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
