The Williston Red Devils are taking a road trip to  take on the Crystal River Pirates  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
Williston came into their game  on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  Santa Fe, falling  13-1. The Red Devils have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.
 Williston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Luna Asencion, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles.  Baylee Cribbs also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Crystal River entered their tilt with Central on Wednesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Bears as they made off with  a  15-6 win. The  match marked the Pirates' most dominant  victory of the  season so far.
 Jenna Childers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate,  Riley Castle and  Athena Childs did most of the damage at the plate:  Castle  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-5, while  Childs  scored a  run and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances. That's the most  hits  Castle has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emma Crosby, who  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 2-for-5.
 Crystal River  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in three consecutive  games.
 Williston's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Crystal River, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
 Williston skirted past Crystal River  1-0 in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williston since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
