Durham Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers, falling 21-14. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cassie Stallone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Matelon Barber was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Durham Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Durham Academy will welcome Cary Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlotte Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
