The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Purdue Polytechnic 79-44 on the road. The win was nothing new for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory as they're now sitting on four straight.
Leading Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory to victory were Javawn Brooks and Evan Haywood. Brooks scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Haywood scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Brooks pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Ford, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Purdue Polytechnic, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will finish 2023 at home by hosting Evansville Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Evansville Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. Purdue Polytechnic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indiana Math & Science Academy North at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
