Meanwhile, Pell City gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past Pelham 35-7 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Pell City as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
One reason for the win was Pell City's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. Jordan Woods led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by himself.
