It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but York Prep had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They snuck past the Landrum Cardinals with a 67-63 win. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Lindsey, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Lindsey has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Benett Edwards, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds.
York Prep's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Landrum, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.
Looking ahead, York Prep will face off against Batesburg-Leesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Batesburg-Leesville will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something York Prep surely won't give up without a fight. Landrum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
