In what's become a running theme this season, the Fullerton Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Edward 56-27 on the road. With Fullerton ahead 28-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Fullerton found their leader in underclassman Kane Wetovick, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Wetovick has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Gochenour, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why St. Edward lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Reader. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 55.6% of St. Edward's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mason Steensnes, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fullerton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for St. Edward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fullerton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palmer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Edward, they will head out on the road to square off against Twin River on Friday.
