The Stark County Rebels had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Galva 72-39 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Stark County has posted since December 7, 2023.
Despite the loss, Galva still got an impressive performance from Cyrus Lilly, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lilly has scored all season. Blake Stahl was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Stark County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Galva, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Stark County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Henry-Senachwine at 6:00 a.m. on February 5th. As for Galva, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Princeville at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. One thing working in Princeville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
