It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Dallas Christian Chargers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-19 win over Covenant on the road. Considering Dallas Christian has won ten matches by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dallas Christian was led to victory by Jaden Davis and Luke Carney. Davis rushed for 91 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries, while Carney rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Carney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. William Nettles also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Dallas Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Porter Nix and Joshua Garrett who racked up four sacks between them.
The victory was the tenth in a row for Dallas Christian, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.5 points. As for Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Dallas Christian will take on Trinity Christian at TBD on Saturday. Covenant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
