Long has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Grangeville will need to focus on slowing down Jack Barta, one of several St. Maries players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 277 yards and four touchdowns. Brock Barta also helped with two scores in total.
With the win, Grangeville broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for St. Maries, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Grangeville against St. Maries when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-34 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Lumberjacks' Isaiah Gustaffe, who picked up 186 receiving yards and one TD. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bulldogs still be able to contain Gustaffe? There's only one way to find out.
