With a playoff win on the line, Cherokee Bluff rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past the Dougherty Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Despite the loss, Dougherty still got an impressive performance from Jatiana Chambers, who went 6-for-13 en route to 20 points. The contest was Chambers' third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Asia M. Simmons, who posted seven points.
Cherokee Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Dougherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-12.
Looking ahead, Cherokee Bluff will challenge Monroe on Tuesday. Monroe will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Cherokee Bluff surely won't give up without a fight. Dougherty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
