The Weequahic Indians's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tech with a sharp 76-51 win. Weequahic's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Weequahic to victory were Tyhir Barlow and Hekeimu Williams. Barlow scored 22 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Williams dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Riyahd Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Weequahic's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Tech, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4.
Weequahic is on the road again on Saturday and play against DeWitt Clinton at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th. DeWitt Clinton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
