Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Spalding Academy and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family were playing football. Spalding Academy enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family. Senior Colton Leslie was the offensive standout of the match for Spalding Academy, as he rushed for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns. Leslie was a defensive playmaker as well with a menacing 3 sacks.
Meanwhile, St. Edward have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took the game and then some with a 59-13 win last Friday over Elba. St. Edward were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped St. Edward to 1-3 and Spalding Academy to 2-2. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
